Plant Zoo is a series of digital drawings of observations at the Leaf Conservatory in Winnipeg. I am exploring the interactions between humans and imported exotic plants in this contained domed environment.

I paint the plant live when I visit the conservatory and observe how people interact with that plant. I sketch the people as if they are living in a different speed dimension from the plants, this offset of dimensions where people are fast and so are done in line and blurring and plants are lush solid and slow.

To enhance the connectivity interaction and humour I give the plants legs so that both creatures are on even footing.
