Description: These Narrow Leaf Sunflowers smell like milk chocolate -yummy smelling in the warm sun. It is a hot day when I paint this, 34 degrees Celsius so have to keep going back into the house for icy water to drink. The paint is sticky looking. I give it a hot and hazy look by mixing the sky, petal and leaf colors very similar. There is a white butterfly in the left hand corner and I make it almost transparent.
How it Was Made: The materials I used are Winsor & Newton Artist Oil Paint, Ampersand Gesso Board, Winsor & Newton Linseed Oil. I painted this plein air in my front yard in Winnipeg.
