Description: A small oil painting of the chives in my garden. In this paintings I wanted to make it fun, so I painted the stems lightly, so that the chives float like bubbles or daytime fireworks. The bees float too. There were so many bees that day and a big butterfly too. I like the weight of the butterfly hanging off the bottom of the flower. Everyone is eating nectar. It’s a party!
How it Was Made: The materials I used are Winsor & Newton Artist Oil Paint, Ampersand Gesso Board, Winsor & Newton Linseed Oil. I painted this plein air while sitting on the ground in my backyard garden in Winnipeg.
